The Dearborn Classics Online Catalog Search is a fast, easy, and
powerful tool to assist you in zeroing in on the products you're
after. We have taken great care to make it as intuitive as possible,
but understand that we don't all think alike. The explanation here
we hope will get you on your way, and the selections you make on
this page can be submitted to perform a search.
Search By Part Number:
If you have your catalog handy and already know the part
numbers of the parts you'd like to purchase, our new Search By Part
Number feature is your express lane. The only required
input in this case is the part number you're looking for. Simply enter
that part number into the provided form entry field, click on Search,
and you'll be presented with the appropriate online catalog page.
In a few cases, our online catalog part number is not identical to
that in our printed catalog, for example, if a base part number has
options encoded in our online database but not in the printed catalog.
In this case, our catalog search software will present you with all
of the options that apply to that base part number. You can try a

Please note that valid characters in the part number field include
letters, numbers, hyphen, asterisk, and question mark. The asterisk
and question mark are used as wildcards, in which a question mark
indicates any one character, and an asterisk indicates any number of
characters. ANY input in the part number field causes all other inputs
(model, year, category, keywords) to be ignored.
Search By Application:
Of course, if you don't have our printed catalog handy, you can search
by application, with or without keywords.
Year and Model are REQUIRED.
In all cases, you must provide a year and model. There are, of
course, a few cases where the year and model of your classic Ford
are irrelevant, such as when you're buying one of our cool Dearborn
Classics T-Shirts -- products that aren't tied to a specific vehicle
will always be shown in their categories, no matter what you enter
for a model and year.

ONE of Category or Keywords is
REQUIRED.
You must either select a category, or provide keywords. It's okay
to do both, too -- the search within the product category will be
narrowed by the keywords, which may be just the ticket to finding
precisely the parts you're after.
Certain words will be discarded from the search, because they are
very common and are either worthless or detrimental to searching.
For example, the words "other" and "never"
would be discarded. We also ignore words of three or fewer
characters, such as "are". After getting those words out
of the way, we perform the search with the first four words that
remain in the keywords you enter. The keywords are case insensitive,
so it doesn't matter if you capitalize letters.
If you get too few or too many results you should try
adding or removing keywords or changing categories -- but you
should probably not change both in the same search, because
you may miss that part you're looking for that way. If you get
too few results, try removing a keyword, or, if you get too
many, add a relevant keyword. If you think your keywords make
sense, but you don't find the part you want, try changing the
category (if you've selected one) or changing to All Categories.
